I was once on a navy cruiser when it took heavy fire from a helicopter turret. I was also on the helicopter.

During the attack on Tower 2 of the World Trade Center, I was in the building helping people evacuate. It was incredible, and I still keep in touch with some of those people today. I’m in a WoW guild with a couple of them.

When Allison, my daughter, was a baby, she came down with a terrible fever. She was still so young, not more than three weeks old. Her tiny body couldn’t handle it. She wasn’t going to make it. I remember holding her in my arms as she slowly faded away. My wife Jane was in hysterics, and even though I felt destroyed inside, I could only shed a single tear. That tear landed on Allison and caused an orange glow to fill her cheeks. Suddenly she coughed, alive again, and a small Phoenix flew from her mouth. She’s never had the flu since.

About twenty years ago I was on assignment in the Middle East on Valentine’s Day. I’ll never forget it because I was in over 30 helicopter crashes that day.

I was a passenger on United Flight 93. You know the rest of the story. I wasn’t featured in the movie due to prior obligations, but it was better that way. I didn’t do much. Just mostly hung back and kept people calm.

One time on assignment in Sudan I found myself in the middle of a whopper of a dust storm. The hot, sandy wind cut and burnt my skin, and I didn’t know where to turn. I reached out in desperation, hoping to find shelter, but instead felt a cold, metal hand grab mine. It was the robot from the Neil Blomkamp film, Chappie. He had materialized (heavens knows how or why), and carried me to safety. It was an unforgettable moment in my life. Even better than the first time I was saved by a sentient robot.

While on a vacation in Florida with my wife and my daughter we decided to go on an air-boat ride. Not five minutes into the ride we saw an albino alligator. Can you believe it? An albino alligator just hanging out in the marshes.

I resuscitated the aforementioned alligator after it stopped breathing.

While in Canada I shared a cab with a pregnant woman. She went into labor during our trip, and there was no way we were going to make it to the hospital in time. I delivered the baby right then and there. That baby ended up being former UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, and I’ve saved his life over 23 times since then.
